Why am I feeling so confused lately?
And why is it that the relationship between my husband and me is on my mind all the time?
I wonder;
Are we in a Domestic Discipline,
What exactly are each of them?
"What does it matter?" my husband asks.
And if I am the one who suggested we try this new relationship, why am I always the one questioning it?
Do I just not like being told what to do?
Or is it because I don't like having a sore bottom?
We have made it this far with our old ways.
We bickered all the time, hurt each with our words and did not like spending time with each other.
And of course we could be spending hours in marriage counseling trying to one up the other. I was getting good at dropping bombs right towards the end of counseling hour.
And we could still be continuing to pretend that everything is great between us. Let others think that we are such a great family.
Hmmmmm..........
I guess my husband is right, it doesn't matter what we call it.
So I give myself to him willingly, I respect his decisions and I honor his words. I follow the rules and I do what he asks. And I accept the punishment without argument.
(or I will try)
oh, by the way, does anyone understand the differences between the three.............

I spend a lot of time analyzing things like this - in the end, I don't think it matters too much. DD or TTWD has made you closer to him, able to express thoughts and feelings you might not have before and overall happier! What could be better?
ReplyDeleteGreat post. You are awesome.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it matters what you call it, but what does matter is if it's working. Are you happier and do you have closer marriage? If the answer to those questions are a yes, then I'd say ttwd is a success for you.

I always thought TTWD - which means "this thing we do" could be for any type of DD, or taken-in-hand or dominant/submissive relationship.
ReplyDeleteAnd DD usually involves spanking and/or other discipline.
Taken-in-hand, I think, mainly focuses on the man being the leader and the woman being the follower but I they can use discipline too sometimes.
But what do I know? Ha! These are all just my opinions and what I've gathered from researching myself! I could be totally wrong! :)
Here's a website about Taken In Hand and the "definition":

I don't know if that helps any? I think everyone has their own combination of DD and Taken in Hand and they just sort of mix it into their own thing :)
It's funny, but I have never stopped to wonder about what to call it..or where we fall in amongst the labels. I'm not much of an analyst though- grin! I do like your post and no matter what you call it I'd say you are in the right track.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog while looking for other newbies, and as I can see you are no longer a newbie. But this post is exactly how I've been feeling. So can I ask, did it really help bring you together long term?
