Name My Husband
What a great idea.
And there will be a prize for the winning name!!!!
A couple of things.......When I came up with the name Blondie, it wasn't because of Blondie and Dagwood.
Yes, I have blonde hair, so it wasn't too much of a stretch to think up the name.
But the movie Legally Blonde one and two are two of my favorite movies but I couldn't remember her name when I was trying to come up with my blogname. Yes, I remember now, her name is El.
Well there was a time I was really young and cute, like the blonde above. But now I have an extra twenty-five pounds and a lot more wrinkles.
The names of Barbie and Ken were already taken, which is another duo that people use to say we looked like. Blehhh
This has always been my logo.
Why? Well before we even knew about DD or even about blogging, my husband thought that I should get this as a tattoo. So it seemed to fit.

Well, there's always Cowboy...lol... I work with a bunch of them and they like that mode of address. There are a couple of Cowboy names that tend to come to mind: Stetson, Winchester, Maverick, Remington and Colt. Can't go wrong with place names either: Dallas or Austin. Have fun choosing!

DeleteAs my husband were going through the names, I mentioned that I liked Maverick. Being the funny man that he is, he replied that he always liked Goose better. As in reference to the movie Top Gun. Lol

I like that idea. Ty. Especially since she named Blondie's Paddle shop in her book. And it is a very short name. I could have done H (for husband) but Emi took that.
DeleteI always assumed you chose Blondie after the comic strip, so I vote for Dagwood, maybe shortened to Dag to give it that 21st century feel.

No not Blondie and Dagwood. What's funny is that I use to hate being called Blondie when I was little. Hated when people asked me where I got my blonde hair from (duh, from my head), and even today when they ask me if I color my hair. Like it is any of their business, or they ask my towhead where he got his blonde hair from as I am standing next to him. How rude! Lol

DeleteFYI - in the past, my old friend Sarah, use to call my husband Mr. B. At first it was short for Mr. Blondie, then for Bugs Bunny. When I started thinking about giving him a name on my blog, it was right about the time I met you. Since you were already MrBB, Mr B didn't sound right.

This is going to interesting to see what he chooses. Sorry that your team is out of the playoffs. I think that it would be awesome if the SG 49ers won the Superbowl since the SF Giants just won the World Series. Maybe it will help our economy out here.

DeleteToo cute! Funny, playful lil brat (now Brooke!) just asked her readers to help name her. I love the idea above of Luke or Emmett, that would be fun. I'm kind of missing the cultural references above (call me TV illiterate or something!) but for some reason the name "Trent" is sticking in my head and I have no idea why, other than, he just sounds like a Trent to me.

DeleteI have no ideas! But great idea. My husband has always been my "lovable ogre" and he's always called me Princess, which is how he became my ogre. Long before DH.

Hmm, have to think of one no one has mentioned yet. How about Dallas, Tucker, or one I really like, Grayson? They all sound like strong cowboy names to me!

True Story... I once worked with a woman named Barbie who married a guy named Ken! I couldn't wrap my head around it then or now!
ReplyDeleteIf you go with a cowboy name I like Duke. Taking a completely different approach, you could name him after one of my favorite TV characters, so in control, Gibbs from NCIS.

DeleteI don't know, Blondie. I still haven't come up with a name for my husband either. By the time you get to be my age, 53, you know so many people. Every name I came up with, reminds me of someone else, and for me that's just "Ewwwww". I don't even want it to remind me of a character in a movie, book, or television. Some names even remind me of the names people I know have given their pets. My husband's name fits him so well, I just have a hard time deciding. ReplyDeleteI am totally in agreement with you Belle. I am not much younger than you and have been with him for over 25 years so I have a hard time thinking about calling him anything but his name. And so true about every name reminding me of someone we know. Hopefully he will like one of the names mentioned and we will have a winner.

ReplyDeleteKinda silly but in Tiny Toons "Buster" was Babs counter part. Babs like to annoy Buster who is more street smart, calm and often told Babs to basically chill out and cut out her nonsense... "rope it in".
