Oh yes, Valentines Day. Not really my favorite day of the year. Not to say that my husband isn't perfect by any means, but romance is not one of those things he does well.
One year, in the midst of hard times, Ty gave me the very best Valentine gift ever. About 3 or 4 years ago, Ty was unemployed and we were really struggling financially. Believe me, a family cannot survive on unemployment benefits alone. Obviously, there was zero money for any kind of gifts. Yet Ty decided to give me something of himself.
He had been teaching himself, via the internet, how to play the guitar. He was doing pretty good but still a novice.
On Valentines day, he came into our bedroom with his guitar. I was already in bed and getting snuggled in for the night. He sat down next to me and said "Happy Valentines day". Then he started playing his guitar and singing our song:

That was the very best Valentines gift I have ever received. Our marriage was pretty rocky during that time, so looking back, it means even more to me. He has a really nice singing voice and he played the song like a master. I tell him all the time how much I appreciated it but he is so modest and kind of brushes it off. This year, who knows what we will do. I am not to ever buy him cards, he hates cards (waste of money, sorry Hallmark). He asks for the same thing every V-day, birthday, Easter, etc. - a blow job. Maybe this year he might get something different,,,,,,,,,,,, no I don't think so, I doubt it.
